This past weekend led to a horrible accident on Peña Boulevard that left two women dead.
On Saturday morning, January 28th, two women from out-of-town were riding in a Freedom Cab minivan as they were heading to the Denver International Airport when they collided with a Ford pickup.
The women were thrown from the cab as it rolled down an embankment near I-70.
Police officers caught up to the pickup truck about 10 miles away from the crash at the airport which was carrying two women and “several” unrestrained dogs in the cab.
Police believe that alcohol is a factor in the accident.
The driver of the pickup, Sandra Lee Jacobson, 40, faces two counts of vehicular homicide, one count of vehicular assualt and driving under the influence.
