At approximately 10:18p.m. on March 13th in Dawson Park at 1757 Harvard Street, a 29-year-old woman from Longmont was arrested for second degree assault and suspicion of careless driving.

The woman had hit a tree in the park with her car and when police arrived they found her without shoes and holding her two-year-old son.

The police stated that the woman did show signs of intoxication and was arguing with officers.

The woman said that the father of her son was the person who was driving the car but she didn’t know his name. She then accused a man standing nearby of being the driver, who was actually a witness to the accident.

Her boyfriend later arrived and took their two-year-old son. She then began to run. She had only made it 10 yards before she fell.

The officers tried to restrain her, but she struggled to break free, so she was tasered.

She was taken too Longmont United Hospital to be checked out for possible taser injuries and was then taken to Boulder County jail.
